This year I have set some Travel Goals for myself, read my Travel Resolutions post to know more – I am getting it into action! Along with that I plan to clear off some destinations from my wishlist, especially the ones I have been postponing for some time now.
My 2018 Travel Wish List goes like this…
1. Rann of Kutch
One of the many places you should visit at least once in your lifetime. Known to be one of the largest seasonal saline wetland areas in the world, this is an alluring destination.
Perfect for: Offbeat travel – solo or with best friend/sister
My story so far: Have been planning this ever since I shifted to Bombay, this year I go for the kill! Waited enough.
Plan cancelled: 3 times.
2. Hampi
With its rich history and its beautiful monuments – Hampi is a must visit destination for everybody. Listed under UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India, this magical-mystical place with its magnificent ruins & giant boulders is a must visit for anyone.
Perfect for: Backpacking – solo or with best friend/sister
My story so far: Plan was cancelled last minute because of non-seasonal rains. I want to do Hampi properly, hence postponed it for another time.
Plan cancelled: 2 times.
3. Gokarna
This small fishing town has pretty beaches and a blissful coast. Gokarna is a favourite among travellers who just want a laid back beach holiday.
Perfect for: Peaceful Vacation – Solo
My story so far: This has been at the back of my head for some time now, high time I see it right in front of my eyes.
Plan cancelled: 1 time.
4. Elephanta Caves
The ferry ride is fun, the caves are lovely and you can retire with some freshly cooked fish and a chilled beer.
Perfect for: Day Picnic – with Family
My story so far: I know this is really close to home, more like a day getaway – but still has been pending for a long time.
Plan cancelled: 0 time.
5. Bhutan
Officially called the tranquil ‘Kingdom of Bhutan’ – this country needs to be on every travellers list for so many reasons. For starters, it is the only country that measures its economic prosperity on a Gross National Happiness index, instead of basing it on wealth!
Perfect for: A week long vacation with Family
My story so far: Planned it completely, but then went elsewhere. This time hoping to not change my plans.
Plan cancelled: 1 time.
Wish me luck and get down on your wishlist for 2018! 😀
